Prop 8 Protest
I'm going to try to go to the Prop 8 Protest in DC tomorrow if I feel up to it, lavender raincoat and rainbow umbrella at ready.
It's at 1:30 p.m. in front The Capitol Building at the Reflecting Pool.
Anyone else going?

I went to a protest in Montréal this afternoon. It was a very small thing, with maybe 30 or 40 people there, who walked under heavy rain from the gates of McGill University to the U.S. consulate (a distance of a few blocks, downtown). The giant rainbow flag the organisers had brought seemed bigger than the crowd. And the colours of hand-drawn rainbow flags on the signs some people were holding were actually running, due to all the rain. No media coverage, although one candidate for a fringe-ish progressive provincial political party was present.

Good for you! Yeah, we had a bad downpour here. I'm bothered that the announcements didn't make clear it was a march instead of a rally--that's pretty ableist. I never caught up with the main group of marchers, but from pics I saw of DC and Chicago's, it was mainly white young people--and these are cities with high concentrations of POC, so it's a problem.
